Brooke Boston, state housing deputy director, is stepping down

Brooke Boston, who has served as Deputy Director for Programs at the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs for more than eight years, is stepping down to take a position as Deputy Director for the City of Austin’s Neighborhood Housing and Community Development Office.

Brooke is a remarkably competent, dedicated and highly effective government housing official.  I wish her well in her new job with the City of Austin.

Tom Gouris will be the Acting Deputy Director for Programs.  Tom is also a dedicated and highly competent housing professional and I have confidence that the state housing agency will continue to operate well.

  1. A huge loss for the Department. She has done a fantastic job over the last 8 years and I am proud to have served with her and watch her grow. Best of luck in the future….Austin’s gain is the State’s loss.
