HUD’s proposal to disrupt the lives of mixed immigration status families is both contradictory to meaning of the law intended to not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, but also contradictory to the very letter of the law in terms of statutes.
Texas Housers, alongside Texas Appleseed, submitted a comment to HUD on this issue and we’ve posted a PDF of our thoughts below. We urge HUD to consider its founding principles as well as the plainly stated legal precedents in light of what this proposal presents.
