Watch Texas Housers’ December COVID Response Call on link between Housing & Health

As our nation looks to turn over the calendar to 2021, we also approach a dangerous deadline. The CDC’s moratorium on evictions expires on Jan. 1 2021, with many wondering what is next, not just for displacement but also for our collective health.

Thankfully, there are many groups and advocates across the country calling for protections from the potential eviction wave that will displace millions of renters and the spread of coronavirus caused by this displacement. These two goals are more intertwined than most realize.

Our December COVID Response Call focused on the relationship between Housing and Health, specifically the critical value that moratoriums have provided in keeping pandemic numbers steady. This month we were joined by:

Dr. Gabe Schwartz, Social epidemiologist at UC San Francisco
Diane Yentel, President and CEO of the National Low Income Housing Coalition
Kate Moore, Vice President of Strategic Planning & Partnerships, ECHO
